Do I have this right?

If I follow the methodology described by Amor fati's Compendium (https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Amor_fati%27s_Compendium_for_the_Extraction_of_Jurema) then the ingredients I will need to perform an extraction from M.Hostilis bark are:

-M.Hostilis root bark
-Vegetable Oil (I would use olive oil)
-99% Isoprpyl Alcohol
-Picking Lime (Calcium Hydroxide)
-White wine vinegar

If this is the case and I can do an entire extraction using just these ingredients and cutting out the need for d-Limonene, thats pretty cheap.

That's right my friend, and if you can get fumaric acid it's even better to get crystals instead of a goo... Not sure why you need IPA, and 5% white vinegar is best.

Good luck and welcome
None of this is really happening, SWIM's mind is so sick and bored than it has to invent all sorts of "abracadabrantesques" stories...

So SWIY would use fumeric acid instead of... vinegar? or in addition to vinegar?

Well looking at Amor Fati's Compendium under 'separatory methods' he reckons IPA should be used to rinse to remove residual oil...

Cheers Curious kid, im new to this and im trying to get my head around the different processes.

I think I have it wrong though. On re-reading fati-amor's thread here: https://www.dmt-nexus.me...spx?g=posts&t=19337

He says that he is doing 'pure veggie oil extraction (in conjunction with limtek)'... so I think you DO still need Limonene??

Vinegar is needed for the acid bath, at least. SWIM's working on rendering freebase from vinegar-salted acetates, but he's run into a snag that may turn him back to fumaric acid if he can't resolve it easily enough. So for now, SWIM's recommending both, but a drytek freebase conversion from acetates would be a decent workaround.

Bingo. The two don't seem to mix, but IPA will cause veggie to become a bit more runny. In any case, SWIM's found it extremely effective.

Nope, it's completely optional. Limonene is a choice solvent for limtek, but the term most specifically refers to the unique manner in which lime is used to perform extractions, like a pseudo drytek with no need for drying.

It's advisable to render some sodium carbonate from baking soda for freebase conversion.

Oh thats what was confusing me!!! Limtek = 'Lime Ca(OH)2-Tek' NOT 'Limonene-Tek'... thanks amor fati.

Hopefully it will turn out to be a characteristic of the vinegar brand, and a distilled vinegar wont leave crappy residue behind.
If it was found that the vinegar snag could not be overcome, the vinegar would need to be removed from the process at both the A/B stage AND salting?

I also just found this link: https://wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Limtek which has a bunch of basic information I need to learn.

Off to educate myself Razz

Unfortunately, it is distilled, so hopefully it's just brand-specific.

Certainly not at the A/B stage, and really the only issue is when freebase conversion from acetates is attempted by heat application, rather than with sodium carbonate (https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10790).
