To go along with Swim's simple Piperine extraction, SWIM would like to come up with a simple curcumin extraction (for future tincture combinations)

SWIM is aware that q21 has a simple oil-extraction for curcumin, but a more concentrated and just as simple method would be great for further testing the general/MAOI effects of curcumin

according to ftp://ftp.fao.org/es/esn...cta/CTA_61_Curcumin.pdf curcumin is soluble in ethanol
"Ethanol - This solvent is used sparingly because curcumin is completely soluble in ethanol. "

that being said, would it be possible for curcumin to be bombed out with water similar to piperine? (curcumin is insoluble in water) and if not, SWIM is merely guessing

if not, SWIM imagines that freeze precip or a simple soak/strain/evap extraction would be efficient enough to produce highly concentrated curcumin, if not crystalline curcumin, which could be added to oil/gylcerin/ect.

If anyone would care to inform or speculate, it would be greatly appreciated!

(will begin testing shortly, once swim obtains some everclear)

Curcumin is readily available as a dietary supplement, fairly cheap. Check the supplements isle.
Please post any experience with piperine/curcumin potentiation.

Ah.. this is true
SWIM just tends to get caught up in the fun of extracting one's own substances!
will post any discoveries for those who might be interested
