SWIM recently did a STB extraction on 200g of powdered mimosa hostilis root bark. Combined with 1300ml of water based to ph 13.9. Foolishly did first 3 pulls with Acetone, then later 3 more with naphtha, after waiting for the acetone to evaporate from the solution. The acetone pulls seemed to take out most of the goodies, but SWIM fears also some of the basic aqueous solution, as the acetone is miscible with water. All 3 pulls done with acetone have finally evaporated down completely in to a large, chunky crusting of very clear crystals with an orange tint as well as some orange oily goop.
He's heard that his best move from here would be to add based water to the solution, and then do a pull with naphtha, but he doesn't want to use the lye again if he doesn't have to. Right now he's considering adding enough naphtha to dissolve most of the material, and doing some freeze precipitations, or dissolving in vinegar for acetate. any advice for this strange man I met?
