Does any one know if this is a good herb or what to do with it?

Blue Lotus tastes like birthday cake!

You can steep it in wine (~20g/bottle) for a few days (add some honey/agave), smoke it alone, smoke it 1:1 with cannabis, use it to make changa... It's quite versatile! It's very gentle and loving, works on the heart chakra. On the rare occasion I treat myself to cannabis, I never have it without blue lotus--it's extremely empathic and uplifting. Smile

It ROCKS in changa, too... Twisted Evil

supposedly blue lotus wine was the ancient egyptions' preferred method of administration for this herb, though I don't think that has been proven...

from what i hear it makes sense to do it that way because the alcohol will absorb the alkaloids better

So you find a cheap wine and just add 20g let it sit for a week and then enjoy?
I think I can do that.

I would say, let it steep at least three days. You could let it steep for longer if you like, though you may run the risk of the wine getting a bit funky. Lotus wine makes an awesome Christmas gift. Pleased

I have found making a tea is extremely bitter (strangely), but I may have steeped way too much too long.

Any particular wine, like white or red? White and rosé go pretty undrinkable after 2/3 days.

after the 2 day steeping period ,could you just forget about the bottle and drink later on ,like a month later and it would still taste good?

You could do that with hard liquor, but not with wine. If you open a bottle of red wine, you've only got about a week before it starts tasting really sour.

This is quite a tedious task! If only I had a carafet lol. I had to drink a glass of wine to get the 20g to fit in too... but I am looking forward to the results at the weekend.

For information, I'm using:

~22g Nelumbo nucifera (this may not be the proper blue lotus/blue lilly that has noticeable effects)
750ml 2008 Californian Shiraz (13.5% alcohol)

I'll post an update at the weekend.

What are the effects with wine and blue lotus? Anyone know? Because I made a tea and smoked the same variety of blue lotus and noticed no effects. Maybe the alcohol will do the trick.

Fascinating. I have a bunch of blue lotus sitting around because I bought it for changa but sort of aborted those experiments so I just had a bunch left lying around. I can't wait to try the lotus/wine or lotus/cannabis mixes Laughing

No effects :-(

Maybe I'll have better luck with the blue lilly.
