Today SWIM's wife tried the caapi-only tea that was mixed earlier this week. The tea was made from 100grams of 6-month-old shredded Yellow vine from Maya that had been stored in a closet. Water and vinegar was used and boiled at 1x3hrs, then 3x45 minutes. An egg-white was used during reduction to help remove tannins. We thought it might be a bit weak because of its age and storage method, so the plan was to take 15g and re-evaluate every 30-45 minutes...taking another 15-20g if no effects were felt.

Summary: The batch seemed weak initially. She took 15g at 30-45 minute intervals for the first 2 hours, then 20g and 20g over the next hour, for a total of 100g over 3 hours. At the 2hr mark there had been no noticeable effects other than just a slight nausea beginning. At 2:30 she reported a slight floating feeling, but not much happened mentally until the nausea built up more.

At the 4:30 mark she had the first urge to purge. Purged again at 5:30, 6hrs, and 7:15. Afterwords, she reported feeling 'out of body' somewhat during the purging period, and she had several insights during this time. She also noted a lattice-like visual overlay (or maybe in her peripheral?).

If she had a negative thought enter her mind it would make her feel very sick, so she had to steer those thoughts a bit. She also had some revelations about her relationship with her mother, and was shown that she needs to eat healthier foods.

Overall she felt pretty nauseous once it kicked in and wasn't able to 'enjoy' much about the experience, although she felt her body was being cleaned out. At the moment she's not looking forward to a second session, although she knows most people have less nausea with experience.

It's been 8:30 so far and at this point she has a light headache and feels weak from lack of food for the last 17 hours. She can't eat yet but has been sipping on water and dozing. I suspect I will hear more about her insights as she recovers and will add anything useful later.

Any comments? I have read several first-time reports where people basically just experienced light-headedness and nausea and disappointment at not getting more, so her experience sounds somewhat typical, yes?

Thanks everyone for your help and support this week!

Peace and Gratitude!

The lattice like imagery sounds like the lower-field of a visionary dose of aya. Was she laying down for the entire process or sitting up and moving around? Laying completely down in a dimly lit space does so much to reduce the nausea for SWIM. Sitting up, even just 45-degrees or so brings a whole other level of sick-feeling for her.

Typically SWIM reduces quite a bit. She's had best results not attempting to measure how much she is taking in, but slowing sip until she feels a definite shift, usually taking about 15-minutes. She developed this off of Ms Minxx's descriptions of her technique, which also involves a smoothie, which SWIM hasn't started doing yet.

Thanks, ragabr. She was lying down for most of the process, but there was some cloudy daylight in the room. She only sat up to drink more or go to the bathroom.
