Hi all,

A FOAF was using glacial acetic acid 10% with tap water in his
A/B
and he made a bit of a blooper... well what happened is he fell asleep while he was evapping with hotplate set to 50c, but the temp sensor slipped off the plate and the hotplate went up to an unknown temperature (but very very hot!)

Rescue attempt...
Anyone suggest a rescue from this crispy black bubbly stuff (it is crispy 100% dehydrated - which was the intention, but went a bit too far)

can he dissolve this in solvent? Which ? he has ipa, water, acetone, acetic acid and there is dcm at his college

...balls

Recovery is extremely unlikely, in any case scrape out the carbon deposits (lol), dissolve in an acidic solution, filter out the gunk, basify to pH 12-13, then extract with your non-polar. Basically do another a/b swim doesn't think you have any solvents selective enough to just pick out the DMT.

If "very very hot" is an indication of the temperatures reached, you essentially made a giant bowl of dmt incense. Chances are all goodies vaporized.
Have any crazy dreams last night? Smile

Your tan and white crystals may be dmt, but it is very possible these are simply impurities from your tap water. Any reason for not just using vinegar?

Thanks guys, appreciated!

SWIM does have naptha/hexane (white spirit) - would that be more NP selective? also Dlimo but I guess thats less selective than nap/dcm/ipa/acetone/water.
