Question: Can this ally be used to alleviate emotional trauma in a similar way to its use for addiction? Does anyone have any experience they can share with this or overlapping issues?

One of the typicalities of iboga wich atribute to it's therapeutic value is that it on the one hand has the typical qualities of tryptamine hallucinogens like LSD, DMT and psilocin and that it has dissociative effects at the same time.
This means that it opens up your mind, your heart and your emotions and at the same time mentally sedates you somewhat. So it can make you relive trauma's or make you aware of all kinds of trauma's and pain that you carry with you, while at the same time being somewhat of an emotional and mental 'morphine shot' that protects you against the pain.

It does a lot more than this. I think it could definately help in breaking through all kinds of patterns and not just the ones that are related to addiction alone.
