So far I´ve tripped on mushrooms just once so I have to see if my example applies later as well. I had just come down
from maybe a level 3 trip and felt light and clear. I also felt like connecting with other people in a subtle way in an
everyday environment so I decided to go to a store to buy some healthy fruits and go for a walk. Before I left I checked from
the mirror that my pupils weren´t dilated and that I also looked normal otherwise. I got to the store, had a
compassionate, happy conversation with my girlfriend on a cell phone, bought some bananas and went for the walk.
It was maybe three in the afternoon and the weather was fine so there were lots of other people walking outside as well.
What I soon noticed was that maybe 80 percent of the people who saw me, would stare at me like never before.
I definitely wasn´t hallucinating anymore nor was I in any sort of delirium. I conducted a small experiment during which I
didn´t look much around me, didn´t smile and believed looking like I normally do. I would pass people by just looking casual,
or looking at my cell phone and at the last moment lay a short, subtle glance on the person who would pass me by. And they
still would be staring at me. The stares were quite neutral (no "look at that druggie" -stares. They were just stares.

I´m really curious if some of you have similar experiences. If not, maybe after the next trip you could try this? But before going
outside check that you look as you usually do (normal sized pupils etc.). Just try to act "normal" and see if people stare at you
more than usual.

You must be one good looking chap and something must have raised your awareness temporarily.

Well the next day people didn´t stare at me as much.. And usually I don´t get stares like that.

Oh yeah, it doesn´t require much awareness to see if people stare at you or not.

I get that big time with mescaline.

I think it gives me an extra warmth in my eyes that make random people less awkward towards me I suppose a tryptamine afterglow could be a similar thing.

This really hits home with me. Yes, swim also gets this with mescal. I swear this is a real phenomenon. It is almost as if they can sense a change in one's energetic field, albeit on a subliminal level. When it first started happening it was sorta freaky, but now swim likes the reactions he gets from people. People he doesn't even know will suddenly want to hang out with him. Man, they will sure gawk at him. One jealous chap even called swim a freak, probably out of intimidation.

It was really strange for me as well at first and I wasn´t sure if it was a real phenomena or was I just somehow imagining it. Interesting to see if it will be the same for me after the next time I trip. I saw in some buddhist documentary in which some of the students of the Lamas could sense the radiating energy of their teachers.. Might this be a similar phenomenon? I´ll post the video when I find it.

I know unequivocally that there is something more than meets the eye (no pun intended) going on here. Swim has also secretly noticed people peeking discretely like you mentioned. For all the sceptics out there, this is not paranoia.

A theory I've come up with is that it is somehow related to the 360 degree vision experienced while in the astral body during OOB and such. Or it could be something different alltogether. It has been postulated that there was once a time when humans had real telepathy capability that was somehow lost over the millenia. This effect could be a latent remnant triggerd by the entheogens. Again, this is speculation. Whatever it is, it's really amazing.

You can often attribute this to' being in the moment'. Your reset of conciousness has made you more aware of what is going on around you. So many people live their lives without seeing what is going on at the moment. They are either looking ahead to things they have to do in the near future or rehashing things that occured in the past. When I was a thelemic monk we did a great deal of exercises that trains you to be in the moment. As a result you notice things that you would have not but also it has the effect of drawing attention from others because you are not 'phased out'. If a person has a conciousness about him that says he is aware of his surroundings it eminates a aura of intelligence about them and a sense of awareness. Think of the overworked mom that runs thru the grocery store looking like she's confused and 'not all there'. Now think of those rare people you talk to who seem to hang on your every word and are able to make a strong connection during conversation.

It has been postulated that there was a time when humans communicated telepathically? Really? You can't jsut say things like that without any sort of evidence. As you say it is speculation, but this seems entirely too fantastical for me to believe.

My speculation would be: Or perhaps its just the extra happiness gained from a spiritual experience changes hormones and pheromones in the body, which other people can chemically detect (albeit subconsciously)

I am slightly affected by bipolar depression, and in my manic phases (happy phases) I feel like everyone is looking at me, in a positive way. Staring, even, as if I'm the center of attention. I look at them, and surprise, they are looking at me (cause and effect, which is a cause and which is an effect?). I think this is entirely subjective. A mild manic episode caused by a spiritual experience with psychedelics.

Thus the "sense of being stared at".

Vovin, I really like your post. You're making much sense. This sheds some light on my situation. People have told me I am a rather attentive listener. I prefer to trust the present moment than ruminate on what could be, or what has happened.

One thing I didn't mention so far is that I have always experienced this phenomenon without drugs. As far back as I can remember. It works on a conditional basis. Certain energies have to be in alignment for it to happen.

No. I consider all angles before arriving at a conclusion. And that conclusion is open to modification.

SWIM gets that with mescaline only, and very strongly. Women especially take notice of him when he’s on a small dose of mescaline. It’s like he’s somehow attracting people on a subconscious level. I don’t know what does it, but it’s very noticeable. He’s used many psychedelics thousands of times and only mescaline does it for SWIM. It’s like he suddenly becomes a social magnet, with people smiling at him, wanting to get close to him, wanting to talk, etc. It’s the most socially stimulating psychedelic SWIM has ever run across. It’s just amazing. Even SWIM’s own kids want to play with him more, his wife wants to hug him more, etc. It’s very weird. SWIM is not acting any different.

Thinking people are "staring" at you can be a symptoms of schizophrenia.

The thing is, you can video tape it and prove it or not with that. SWIM has done that, and the videos prove it's not imagined. A small dose of mescaline somehow causes people to be attracted to SWIM. He's got proof on video that was taken by his wife. She notices it too and sometimes gets jealous of all the ladies giving SWIM attention. In the videos, SWIM is acting normal, but the ladies are on him like a magnet.

It would be interesting to study this phenomenon. Most people notice it with mescaline in particular.

50mg to 75mg works great for swim when out in public. He saves the higher doses for deep solitary introspection.

SWIM gets this from doses as little as 50 mg of mescaline. That's not enough for any psychedelic effects, or anything noticeable in the face. He looks normal in the videos. There’s no way to tell he’s on mescaline. The dose is way too small. And yet, he’s a girl magnet on 50 mg of mescaline. It’s amazing.

From watching the videos, it doesn’t appear that the attraction is based on looking at SWIM. People from behind him suddenly come up to talk to him. It’s a little freaky to watch it.
