Hello and welcome.

You could always buy a silicone (Silikon) rubber bung if it concerns you. Otherwise just ensure that you proceed with whatever purpose without inverting the flask.

Wine bottles will be at risk of breakage if subjected to heating, whereas borosilicate flasks are more resistant both to thermal shock and caustic alkalies. The latter can still cause damage over prolonged periods, however.

Without a bung, your flask will be a case of "stirred, not shaken" Pleased

Thank You,
which style is better if I need to stir?
Narrow or wide neck?
https://www.hobbybrauerv...en-weithals-1000-ml.webp

These are the styles I can get (all Borosilicate Glass):

elernmeyer flask 1000ml narrow neck without lid
elernmeyer flask 1000ml wide neck without lid
bottle 1000ml with PP lid https://www.amazon.de/-/...Laboratory/dp/B00LHWYLTG
(but is PP safe? Is the neck to wide?)

I had what the seller claimed was a silicon bung and it seemed to be interacting with the high ph soup. After a bit of searching I managed to find cork bungs and they seem better.
I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Since you won't be able to stir without some kind of cap, bung, or other covering, you'll likely want a wider mouth so that you can a more agitating stir process.

Though if you plan to mix by just swirling the flask, the narrow neck will probably be more suitable in preventing spillage from the top.

Is it okay to take a long stainless steel spoon and stir?
