I'm asking out of curiosity.
First N,N- extraction halfway through and there are a couple questions bothering me.
How important is the filtering? It's not mentioned much in the teks. Swim did a few boils on a pound of MHRB, reducing it to 800ml, filtering it with a cloth, several cotton balls and a coffee filter. He defated it three times with 100ml C6-C7 NPS as mentioned in volvins tek step 4. After basifying to pH 12 ending up with 1300ml and adding 300ml NPS swim was shaking it 'vigorously'...maybe to vigorously, so swim had a fucked up emulsion then he put two spoons of NaCl and heated it up again which worked. Then swim tried to clean the NPS with 30ml distilled water with a pinch of Natrium-Carbonate and two more times with 30ml plain H2O, like its shown in vovins tek at step 7 (maybe one can explain to me what happens there). Now there are lots of small transparent droplets in his Sep-funnel as well as some flushed with the solvent into his Pyrex dish...its somewhat polar. Swim collected them on a razor and heated them up with a lighter. smelled like DMT a bit and burned by itself with a bright yellow flame but with a lot of black soot. What could that be????
