Fabulous. Now we have the means to produce a high-quality, low-cost, industrial-scale psilocybin. We just need the ability to... *quietly awaits laws to change*

From what I recall, the bacteria need to be fed 4-hydroxyindole, serine and methionine to do this. The last two are easily available, 4-OH indole much less so. Fed with normal faeces they might still produce DMT though, from the indole content. There's a more thorough discussion of this paper in the main part of the forum.
