Swim followed lextek exactly. though they only used 100g of bark. did the three washes in about a liter of ph 4-5 wather/actic acid solution. did the defat and let the dish evaporate. i have some globs of goo that i guess is active according to some threads i have read, how would swim collect the in order smoke? Would it crystalize if swim just let it sit there for a few days? I was talking to someone in chat the other day and I'm pretty sure they sad that it would. this is just all so frustrating. Sad any help would be appreciated.

Acacia-head Nen888 has Strongly advised against the Lextek for acacias several times in a few threads.
See the Acacia Confusa Thread OP for links to successful confusa extractions.

^..well spotted Monk, thanks..Smile

yeah, this would be about the 18th report of a failed acacia extraction with the Lextek..

it should be removed from the Nexus..!!

the Q21Q21 works..the Poormans' , Noman's works..the so-called nen-method works..

avoid the lextek!!!!

if you leave the goo for a few days it should slowly crystallise... mine took around 5 days to fully crystalise.

yeah lextek uses too much vinegar (and too much acacia) especially for distilled water which is already extremely sensitive to acids....and also WAY too much lye. 250 grams? come on.. if anyone ever spilt a brew with that much lye it could be extremely hazardous. Pretty lazy extraction which seems more focused on quantity rather than quality.

I added a warning at the top of the Tek stating not to use it for Acacia Extraction.

Hopefully that will prevent this in the future.

Edit: Not sure how well the tek works for mhrb, if it's an ineffective tek, I can add a warning in there for that as well.

Edit again: Maybe adding some notes to the tek would be a better alternative instead of just saying "Don't use this for acacia extraction" since the tek was kinda designed for acacia extraction? Is it a species specific tek?

WAY too much bark, yes! Thanks Acacian. Nen hypothesised the other day "over-basifying" could form oxides or other compounds. Also, somewhere in the acaciinfo thread I can't find it was said not to use some of the solvents in that Tek or something? Something wrong about the defat stage? Nen?

phyllode... how efficient do you think xylene is at pulling alkaloids? Could it get all of the alkaloids out with 2 pulls do you think?
yeah, I remember reading a thread on corroboree by a member who I am pretty sure wrote the lextek.. he seems under the impression that the acacia is unconditionally at his service and treats the bark like picking blackberries. Perhaps someday in another life he'll be reincarnated as an obtusifolia in a wildharvesting rife area and he will understand that the tree is not just there for his personal gain, but perhaps for its own journey too

Well thanks everybody. Swim, after reading that noman's could work decided to give it a shot.

-75g powdered bark
-750 ml water
-75g sodium hydroxide

Waited for the water/lye to cool before adding bark. let that sit for 90 mins or so. then added the naptha. That was then left to sit for an hour or so. agitating every few minutes. first pull is in the freezer, cloudy already after only about 20. That's a good sign i guess. looks like a small layer of some type of white substance.

I wouldn't do a STB method for acacia smokey0140 ... a lot of people have undesireable results. A/B seems more preferable.. plus you get to spend more time pouring your intention into the extract.. which is something i very much enjoy about longer more drawn out extracts

Well the STB did leave much to be desired. Got the famous clear goo everyone was talking about. it was active but i cant tell how much dmt/nmt there was. the marsfold's tek i used was much much better. just crystals, no oil.

I completely agree in regards to the A/B over STB statement. Confusa is not as "fat free" as Mimosa is and contains other factors making teks like Noman's a lot less effective.
