I have been playing around with this extraction tek quite a while ago (lets say 2 months).
I had 2 batches running simultaneously, from which I did one d limo pull each, salted out and then added the d limo back into the sludge.
The one I filtered a day or 2 later, and had a yellow d limo with a slight green colour to it.
I saved this limonene in a glass (batch 1).
The other batch (lets call it batch 2) I just left the limo in the mix to sit until the time came that I got around to it again, which was only this week.
So both had been sitting in that state for about 2 months.

So I have finally gotten to salting out the first batch, the vinegar had a nice milkiness to it as usual, and will be able to report on the extraction once this is evaporated.

I have also filtered the second batch of limo, which is now a dark green colour. When adding vinegar and shaking, it tends to emulsify much more than the first batch, and the vinegar does not seem to discolour at all. So my question is, would there be something else pulled along into the limo over the 2 months which could be interfering with the extraction? I have read about someone doing pulls up to 4 weeks from initial lime mixture. Would the lime over this time not neutralize, so then the limo may pull a different spectrum of substances? Almost like defatting in an acidic mixture?

Out of interest sake, I also added the first batch of limo back into the gunk that I also saved from the first batch, and it has now also turned a quite bright green, probably indicating that it may be pulling the same stuff. Will still see what happens when adding vinegar to this, will update on these results.

Any thoughts on this?

The lime is a solid base and I don't see it being neutralized by anything at that stage, even given some time. Persevere with extraction as usual, there are lots of ways to break emulsions. Generally time is the most effective way.
I've seen terrible gunky emulsions settle if given enough time. Your solvent probably just had more time to absorb more impurities, but your actives are still mostly just mescaline. Saltings can easily be filtered with a piece of cotton ball LIGHTLY pushed down a funnel, if need be.

Lime slowly absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, turning it into calcium carbonate. With an old limetek extraction, you may find adding fresh lime paste will improve yields - especially if the extraction has dried out or become crumbly.

As far as the green colour goes, this suggests to me that chlorophyll-related material has made its way into the limonene. This will act as a surfactant as chlorophylls have a polar end with fatty tails attached - hence the emulsion issues. Sorry to say, I think this will be quite difficult to deal with

So I also heard about the calcium carbonate conversion, which then neutralises the pH after a while.
It seems like that may also have made to to the other end of the extraction. I evaporated again, although this time quite a bit longer. What has come out actually does not look bad. Attached a picture of it. Think the first time the goeyness confused me, as previous extractions on evaporation it crystallized into nice patterns. Going to do a re-x with water just to make sure the is no calcium carbonate. It does seem to have an additional smell that I dont recognise as Mesc acetate or limonene.
