Why multiple toluene/xylene pulls? Options

When pulling with a NP solvent in which DMT is very soluble, like toluene/xylene, would a single pull not suffice? The only requirement would be for the solvent to have been in contact with the precipitated DMT freebase adequately through vigorous shaking.

The only reason for a 2nd pull that I can think of is because one can never perfectly separate all the NP from the water. Still, the second pull will be much weaker if the first was done properly. Not like with naphta where the amount of DMT that is soluble in a given amount of solvent is limited.

I have always assumed extra pulling was just to make sure you've depleted your brew.

As far as I can tell 75%~ of the alks come out of the first pull
