I have a friend who has recently discovered that not all mini shot bottles are made equal. During the first hyperspace trip with his new machine style pipe the "glass" began to warp in his hand and the neck of the bottle stretched out and the whole pipe began "fizzing". It was hard for him to determine if the contents of the pipe were taking effect or if it was really happening. Nobody was hurt but my assumption is that the bottle was acrylic or some other material even though it looked like glass. A strange thing to experience while jumping to the other side indeed!

Sounds like plastic to me.
A quick test. Remove any metal cap, neck ring. Fill with water. Drop in bucket of water. If it floats there's a pretty good chance it's plastic.
Also the fizzing and stretching would be red flags.

If you can't tell the difference between glass and plastic, you're gonna be struggling... “There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work." ― Jacques Bergier, quoting Fulcanelli
