I can't tell what kind of cactus it is I'm seeing, I've looked on google images and it doesn't really help me figure it out. I'm not too great at identifying cacti so could someone please help me and tell me if this cactus is a San Pedro? Im relatively new to cacti, but it certainly looks like trichocereus pachanoi (san pedro) to me! "A troop of elves smashes down your front door and rotates and balances the wheels on the after death vehicle, present you with the bill and then depart. And it's completely paradigm shattering. I mean, ya know, union with the white light you could handle. An invasion of your apartment by jeweled self dribbling basketballs from hyperspace that are speaking in demonic Greek is NOT something that you anticipated and could handle!' -T.M.

Is it possible for you to get a few more pictures in some better lighting? A few side shots and 1 or 2 from the top and at a shorter distance? From here, it looks like the Pachanoi "PC" clone that's commonly found in California and the surrounding states..... With better pictures I can help. -=Archmage=-

This specimen is in California so I'm wondering how common is this clone and does it have any of the same alkaloids?

Isnt like 99.99999% of pachanois now pachanots though? Esepcially those from the US? Yes these pictures were taken at night with a poor cell phone camera, that's the reason for the terrible pixelated ness. I'll have to try to get more daytime images with a decent camera.

It's so hard to say for sure without seeing the color of the flower pubescens. You will get different answers from different people. Only way to know if it's active is to test it. A simple no cook, minimal effort method to guage potency is to cut into pieces and freeze and thaw 2 or three times and drink the resulting liquids that are released. Just don't go and rip someone's cactus though. You never know, it could belong to someone here if it's not yours. Nagdeo

That looks like a pachanot (aka PC) clone, to me. I extracted a about 2.5 kg of similar looking cactus recently, and got about a gram of mescaline sulphate, so it was fairly weak cactus. Once you see a real pachanoi up close (and for that matter, experience one by surprise...that's another story entirely!) it's fairly easy to tell them apart. That being said, I could definitely be wrong. It may even be some type of hybrid, which are rare but do exist. If you know the people, you might be able to ask for a cutting. If you don't know them, you might try to meet them and see how it goes. Just a thought. Be an adult only when necessary.

Hey motor, Sorry to say that I think it's definitely the PC clone. I have one in my house. Real pachanoi tends to have these little creases coming out of the areoles, kind of looks like how you draw single-line seagulls on paper...? Yours looks exactly like mine. When I juiced it, (skinned, chopped, blended, boiled(pressure cooked), squeezed/strained, repeated 2 more times and then drank the tea...my wife and I had a great mellow lucid experience... Mostly because of all the other alkaloids present in the cactus, but when I tried a mescaline extraction, it yielded very very little. If you're looking for a very mellow experience, with mild visual distortion and an overall enjoyable time, juicing it like I said above works great. Good luck bud!!! -=Archmage=-

If that was fresh cactus, 1 gram is not that bad at all considering most of the times 95% is water so only 125 gram dry. The PC is supposed to yield far less.
