I have read through several lengthy and informative wiki entries and forum threads on changa, and I have one question. I understand changa simply means infusing leaves/herbs with spice and/or harmala extract.

Would caapi leaf infused with spice have enough haramla/MAOI(synonymous?) effect to be a good changa in itself, or does the leaf only contain a trace harmala effect to where it would need additional harmala extract infusion to get a good ratio?

I understand some leaves and herbs used in changa blends have no innate harmala quality, so would, say, lavender infused with spice still be changa?

(okay, maybe there's 3 questions in there)

I believe harmala + dmt = changa..so, cappi leaf/dmt is changa, while lavender/dmt would be "enhanced leaf," or "enhanced herb."

Trace amounts if your just using the caapi leaf. Lite MAOI/brain effect in comparison to extracted harmalas. I typically extract harmalas from caapi vine. I use roughly 270mg caapi harmalas per 1g DMT per 1g (leaf blend of your choice).

Quite a few here have made 11x caapi leaf/etc. Never have done that, as I always found extracting the harmalas then dissolving them down into high proof alcohol then infusing said herbs to be of great effect.

Interesting, thanks for that info. Don't most people use a 1:1 harmalaVery happyMT ratio?

Um im not entirely sure, although I don't think so. There's some here that have made 'harmala heavy' blends and they imo, are very similar to ayahuasca in that it's more of a "slow crawl" through hyperspace, than shot directly through. But 270mg harmalas per 1g of DMT is definitely sufficient for MAOI/brain activity to where it'll slow it down considerably. Definitely not on the same scale as 1g harmalas to 1g DMT, though ime.

270mg-300mg per 1g DMT is a good amount if your looking to make a solid changa blend.

Best of travels,

Thanks! My ": DMT" turned into a smiley, but I think you understood what I typed. Thumbs up
