While performing step 6 of Tao Rue extraction, 80g salt was added to 800ml mixture of dissolved alks. The Jar was fairly warm when the salt was added
After the salt was added the jar was placed in a warm water bath to give it more heat
It was mixed up real nice, but now the salt has settled at the bottom of the jar and after 7 hours there has been no signs of xtal growth.
Does the solution need to be placed in a warm water bath to heat and dissolve the salt?

Hi,
backing up, did you wait until all the alkaloids settled to the bottom, then pour off the liquid?
Then did you redissolve in a minimal amount of vinegar?

You might not get crystals in step 6 if you didn't wait long enough in step 5, or if you used too much vinegar in step 6.

the solution was left for 24 hours to ensure all alks settled to the bottom
the liquid was decanted off and alks left behind
6 cups of warm distilled water and 2 cups of vinegar were then poured in to fill to 800ml
the solution turned a reddish color
80g of table salt was then added and stirred while in a hot water bath to bring the temp up
now 10 hours later no xtal growth has occured and the salt has settled to the bottom

If the jar is placed in a water water bath to bring the solution to a near boiling temp would the salt be dissolved and then the harmalas crystalize while it cools and left undisturbed for 24 hours
