I'm on the tail end of my first STB. I did Nomans tek to the T. I did two pulls about a week ago in hot water baths. And decided to wait until I got some different equipment for the separation of the two layers.

The root bark has been sitting in the lye + h2o solution for about a week now.

One thing I was wondering is there a time frame that you should do your pulls in? Will the DMT degrade in the lye + h2o solution or will it just sit in suspension until I do my naphtha pulls?

Just didn't know if letting the root bark sit in the solution waiting to do pulls was gonna have any negative effects on the DMT at all.

From my experience it doesn't matter, I have waited a month at times and still got a fine yield.

Thank you adam for the quick response. I wish I knew chemistry better but I'm trying the best I can. I won't worry to much about it just sitting around then in my glass jug. I was worried that the DMT might degrade in the super basified solution over time but that just comes from my lack of understanding of chemistry.
