EDIT - Naphtha sorry

I got 3 tins of VM&P Naphtha from Home Depot. They're in the same exact container as the one I got before; the other stuff was crystal clear and worked as intended. I opened up a new jug and a bunch of brown debris came out in the Naptha. I figured maybe it was a bad batch, so I tried #2 and #3 and all of them had brown particles and the liquid was slightly brown as well. To be clear this was before doing any type of extraction...straight from the tin.

I can add a pic if needed, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else? There's no type of safety seal on it so one guess is maybe some "prankster" decided to contaminate the Naphtha to stop people like us. They were the last 3 containers available as well...

You should return it, definitely a bad batch. It would be useless even for it's intended purpose.

Thanks, the second part is good to know too. I have 3 jugs of it so I was hoping I could at least return it. I guess I'll say I don't want the brown particles contaminating my paint.

bad bad news there. my vm&p from the depot was clear. looks like the jug was rusty or something.

Yeah I'm definitely not using it. Rust seems to be the problem, but it's odd that I couldn't find anything by googling. At any rate I got two new jugs of crystal clear Naphtha today
