How could one mess up a sodium carbonate wash? Options

So I had some naphtha in the freezer for a day and it was forming spice crystals while I got some free time to bake some baking soda for a couple hours to use for a sodium carbonate wash. Did the wash according to the FAQ. Naphtha has been returned to the fridge, but now it is not forming crystals. What on earth could have gone wrong?

I'll be honest, I have no idea. But is it possible that some of your sodium carbonate solution ended up in the naptha that is now in the fridge? Not sure if or how it would affect the crystallization but to eliminate the possibility you could add your DMT containing solvent to a thinner container, wait/check for seperation, pull only the solvent layer containing your DMT and then add to your dish to put back in the fridge.

I just put the naphtha back w/ the base mixture to re-pull. A bunch of crystals formed in less than half an hour while waiting for everything to settle so I could decant. Definitely going to be a bigger yield than my first pull. It seems to take many hours for the base mix to fully settle and run down the sides of the jar. I'm going to wait for that to happen and the do a hot water bath to try to get those crystals to re-dissolve so I can decant cleanly. If not may have to try to get this wash thing to work. Still can't think of what happened. But based on the naphtha easily putting crystals down in the re-pull my best guess is somehow the DMT migrated to water/sodium carbonate mix. Maybe it was still bicarbonate? I baked the baking soda for 2 hours and it was courser, but not quite as much like sugar as I expected from reading the wiki. Would a wash w/ sodium bicarbonate pull the DMT back over to the polar solvent?

Well, now there's a mystery cloud in the naphtha. Thinking I maybe accidentally grabbed the iodized salt when salting the basic solution. Any good way to clean a contaminated solvent? Could I just precip the crystals and go through the whole process again as if they were bark?

EDIT: The cloud has turned into (or maybe always was) a gelatinous blob which the crystals condense onto. Maybe I could heat to dissolve the crystals and then coffee strain the cloud out?
