caapi & chacuna extraction Options

Hi - newbie here about to try my first extraction. I couldn't find a tek for caapi & chacruna hence this thread...

Some background. I went on an Aya week long retreat about 6 months ago and did 3 ceremonies. I felt nothing (except for a very slight buzz - I've had a bigger buzz on good red wine!) during the first and third ceremonies which were the same brew. The 2nd ceremony used a different brew and everyone said it was the strongest they had ever experienced - all hell broke loose for some in the group. I didn't get any visuals but did some serious purging. I was told afterwards that I may have some sort of natural immunity or resistance to aya although not everyone gets visuals right off the bat.

So my plan is to keeping trying and develop a relationship with the plant and a good way to do this is to make my own brew. I am planning on microdosing for a week then maybe taking a full dose (whatever that is..!) at the end of the week.

I have 250g of cielo caapi and 100g of chacruna leaves. I want to start with a small batch as recommended on this site. I also intend to brew them separately and keep them separate so that I can take the caapi first, let it do its thing, then take the chacruna.

Questions:

1) How much of each should I brew to make enough for a week's microdosing and a final full dose?

2) I am planning on using white vinegar as the acid for both. Do I absolutely need to add NaOH, if so how much and do I add it to both? I've seen teks that don't use a base at all

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p01O5po0hvc

3) How much should I take of each for a microdose? how much for a full dose?

All and any feedback appreciated.

microdose? what are you on about?

read the wiki on aya, it'll tell you what you need to know.Big grin

for an ayahuasca brew, you absolutely need to NOT add lye.

bases are used for non-polar solvent extractions (A/B or STB). for ayahuasca, one need only add water and plants -acid is optional, but not necessary. also as much vinegar/lemon juice you add to your brew, you will have to drink, so be careful not to overdo it. also you could consider fining the caapi tannins with an egg white or with jell-o.

Lots of people microdose aya - that's where I got the idea from. You might want to try it... or at least google it.

that's what got me confused when I looked at the wiki - seemed like the A/B teks were for caapi and mimosa extractions and they all called for using a base.

thanks - I searched this forum and couldn't find what I was looking for but the aya subforum has a great visual which gave me the info I need for the extractions. I'll experiment with a starting appropriate microdose. So long as I'm conservative with it, should be OK and I'll figure out the strength of the brew at the same time.

yea, the forum search is rarely fruitful. you will have much better luck restricting a google search to this website.
