SWIM has done three extractions using noman's tek off of erowids 'dmt for the masses'.
The first two extractions went wonderfully without a single problem. The third extraction though is yielding very few, small crystals after the freeze precip stage. The only thing that has changed between the first two extractions and the third is the quantity of materials used.

The first two extractions were done with 50g of MHRB and a base solution was made with 50g of lye with approximately 1125ml of distilled water (SWIM is using pre-powdered root bark, so SWIM went with 1.5 times the amount of water originally called for on the tek. The tek recommends doing this for those with pre-powdered bark). For each pull SWIM used 75ml of heated naphtha. SWIM heats the naphtha for every pull in a hot water bath inside of a crock pot. (Also keep in mind, SWIM uses fresh naphtha for every pull during every extraction SWIM tries)

The third extraction was done with slightly higher quantities of materials in order to get more dmt in the end. For this extraction SWIM used 60 grams of MHRB in a base solution of 60 grams lye and approximately 1462.5ml of distilled water. For each pull approximately 93.3ml of heated naphtha is used.

For some reason though after SWIM tried upping the quantities, next to nothing forms during the freeze precip process. SWIM's freezer is definately cold enough, as SWIM has had the two other very successful extractions previous. SWIM is not sure what to do now. During the third extraction SWIM did one pull that was only about half the amount of naphtha. SWIM is now attempting to evap this smaller collection of naphtha to see what remains afterward.

Generally, the rule SWIM uses when coming up with his measurements is as follows: 15mlx1.5, or 2 times the amount of water for every gram of root bark. One gram of lye for every gram of MHRB, and approximately 1ml of heated naphtha for every 15ml of water used.

SWIM is going to try another 50g extraction again, like he did the first two times to see if he can get it again. In the mean time though, is there any advice somebody can give? SWIM already has all this presumably spice filled naphtha that he cant seem to get the spice out of due to the seemingly failed freeze precip stage, and he really would rather not evap all of it to see what he has.
