"Hey, when ive been doing my acacia confusa extraction, I use the Lex tek. Not sure about refrigerating...havent done that before. But Ive been skipping the defat. Always come out with clean, white fluffy crystals. I make sure to heat up the solvent and the solution in a hot water bath every pull. Take what I say with a grain of salt though, Ive only done a a handful of extractions. Figured id pass my knowledge along.", said the pink panther.

"edit: after reading some more tonight, i just realized lex tek hasnt been working well for people using acacia confusa...not sure why im getting good results."

swim has a decently strained vinager/water ACRB in a quart jar i havent added any extra vinager since the boils. i also havent added any lye/caustic soda. iv added naptha to the mix and i have a 1/4" bubbly emulsion layer how can i get rid of it too do the defat. its currently sitting in a hot bath

the emulsion layer is of yellow color. and can be moved very easly exposing the liquid and clear naptha should swim remove the fatty looking emulsion layer? with the naptha.

I PM'd Nen on what was wrong with the Lex Tek.
The response:
Quote:
basifying then acidifying then re-basifying a clumsy and unnecessary proceedure, more can go wrong ; no correct pH level for final basification given..Over or Under Basification can stuff it all up! should be pH 11-12.5..;
defatting never done by me personally on acacias, and don't have problems; shellite is a shit brand of naphtha;
and the supposed requirement of 2kg of bark is both greedy, un-needed, and has encouraged excessive tree damage and overharvesting!..i really hate this tek and the energy of the individual behind it..Twisted Evil Sad

teks that work for acacia and are easy: Nomans; Q21Q21; nen-method; poormans' tek.
