Hi nexus, been lurking here the past month or so and finally decided attempt my first extraction. For my first attempt I wanted something simple and completely food safe so I did an ethanol extraction on 40g of powdered achuma chips.

Basically I finished my extraction last Thursday but I didn't evap immediately and the jar has been sitting in the dark in my closet for the past few days. I took a look at it yesterday and noticed a yellowish slime had formed at the very bottom of the jar. If I shake the jar it seems to completely disappear into the alcohol but after a while it returns to the bottom. I'm curious as to if anyone here knows what the slime is exactly.

Is it just plant matter that escaped the filtering process? Mold maybe (hopefully not)? I wouldn't think it'd be the alkoloids. Should I ignore it or maybe run it through a filter once more?

its most probably acumulated particles of plant matter.i would decant and carefully filter the rest.
