IF a water layer comes through with limonene during Limetek should it just be discarded. Options

It seems it is probably a mistake to leave a water layer during salting with FASI.

If FB is not water soluble then it would make sense to get rid of this water layer that appears on the bottom after pouring off Limonene?

OF course just assuming that is what it is.

But if you leave that in there since Fumarate IS water soluble then wont the fumarate migrate into that water in addition to it salting out of the limonene during FASI?

Doesn't anyone else have that happen?
Never have read anyone mentioning it.

AND, if you read through the Limetechs there is even mention of a consistency of Split Pea soup.

Which was a consistency never seen but still this sinking layer appears at bottom of Limonene.

WHY?

Thanks for the time...

Get rid of every last drop of that water. FASI needs anhydrous IPA to work; if there's just a tiny bit of water it's not anhydrous anymore. That's why you dry it with anhydrous magnesium sulphate before use, even if it's supposedly 99.9%.

Crumbly consistency worked great for me, try it and you won't have this problem as well as losing less solvent.

Actually the drier the mix is I believe you actually lose more solvent.
But it is probably worth the trade off...
