Hi there,
i already posted my first thread in the Welcome area, and after an introduction of myself i asked the same question i'm writing here, maybe this is the right place for it, so i'll copy and paste the question, hope you can help!
I'm going to do my first STB extraction, and at the moment i'm buying the required items..
I've ordered my first bunch of MHRB from mh-uk (you probably know that website, and i hope i'll receive my mimosa, it seems that they had some problems in the past....), so during the wait for it, i'm starting to buy the other things that i need, and i've got almost everything. The only thing that i'm missing at the moment is the solvent.
I read everything about the best ones, etc etc.. Now, because i can't find pure naphtha or heptane or anything else in my country (i live in EU), i ordered some Ronsonol from a big seller on eBay, but because they are not replying to me (and i haven't paid yet), i went to a DIY store to search something by myself, something that could be ok as well even if it's not pure naphtha..
So, at the end i found 2 products that seems to be quite in accordance with your advices:
1)The name traslated is something like "Epoxodic Thinner" , and in the Ingredients is written:
TOLUENE , XILENE.. Nothing else.
2) The name is SYNTIACOL, and in the ingredients it says:
Naphtha solvent (petroleum) light and aromatic, Toluene. Nothing else.
Now, i know that if i want to be sure that a solvent is good or not i should let it evaporate and see if will leave any residue..
Anyway, i'm interested in your opinion about these two solvents, what do you think about them? Could they be ok?
In my personal opinion, the 1 should be ok, since xilene e toluene seems to be good solvents, even if they'll leave some yellowish things at the end, because i know they bring with them more alkaloids.. My concerning is about xilene and toluene
together... Are them ok together?
The 2 in my opinion could be better than 1, since the biggest part of it seems to be light naphtha, with some toluene. But here i have two worries:
1) Could the fact that it is aromatized be a problem? I mean, if there are other molecules in the compound that comes from the fragrance, couldn't it be "dangerous" in some way?
2) Again, naphtha(light aromatic) + toluene can be considered a safe combination?
Thank you all!
