Hey everyone,
I had a friend back in the day that was an extractor such as myself, we have long since never seen each other but I remember him doing a psilocybin extraction.
I myself dont have much knowledge of this particular subject but it was rather interesting to me so I thought this would be the place to mention/ask about it. Maybe we can get some good information going on this topic. Has anyone tried this?
From what I remember, He used a certain type of clean evaporating alcohol, and ground up the mushrooms and put them in a jar with the alcohol slightly above it. Im trying to remember correctly what type of alcohol i know it came in a solvent can, maybe methanol? Maybe im wrong, but basically at this point he shook it up for days and weeks actually now that I think about it and let it sit. Then shake and let sit etc.
Once the alc was evaporated, I remember it being this grey-ish blue-ish goo. Very good trip nontheless, just rather hard to work with being as it was more of a hash-oil like texture.
Was just wondering if anyone has tried this or what solvents could/would be best for it?

methanol works great, just be sure to evaporate it all before consuming. same with any denatured alcohol "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." ~ hassan i sabbah "Experiments are the only means of attaining knowledge at our disposal. The rest is poetry, imagination." -Max Planck

Hey OP I made this image up for you. I found it on this website. FAQ - Polarity Make sure your solvent is 95%-100% pure. Also read up on Psilocybin extracts shelf life, and find out Pros and Cons of using Methanol over Ethanol; and vice versa. "Life moves pretty fast. Actually benzyme, thats funny you mention that. Now I remember that he used denatured alc.

Has anyone here done this? Maybe the reason it turned out gooey and unmanageable is because he let it sit too long. Idk but when I extract dmt, i know if i leave it in the base too long i start to get more oils/fats. Im wondering if the same rule applies here.
Is there a way to clean it up etc? to make it more manageable? I wish someone would post some pics etc
