So I have everything I need for the extraction. The only question I have is that I ordered Mrs. Wages pickling lime (q21's tek reccomended it) and in the pictures it looks like its a powder? Mine is a liquid inside a pouch. It only says Calcium Hydroxide on the ingredients. I am just wondering how much I should use, considering it is a liquid?

Quote:

Step 1: Add to the mix at least 3g of lime for every 4g of MHRB used. (IE: 150g lime for 200g MHRB)
(More lime will not hurt.)

Adding it bit-by-bit and mixing will be easier to mix, but you can dump it all in if you want.
(For those of you without scales: 1 cup of lime is 130-150g)

So 1 cup of MY LIME will be 130 to 150g?

Thanks for all the help guys.

Sounds weird. The mrs. Wages pickling lime I've seen has all been powder.

I am going to try it tonight. with 30g root bark. The package says 473 grams on it.. So i will just figure out how much per ml and go from there. Would I have to use less water because there is water with the lime? (since its a liquid, idk). I just don't want it to mess up the consistency. Unless consistency doesn't have to be 100%.

EDIT: I feel rather stupid for creating this thread. Since I am preparing to do the extraction right now, I opened the bag. It sure is a powder. I did think it was rather strange that it was in "grams" and not liquid measurements. The powder is just really soft, and flows as if it were a thick liquid in the bag.

Anybody else having thinking this, I hope it helps you out.
