hello all, i am new here. just putting in a quick question.
my friend in brasil has been interested in, and using, yopo and vilca snuffs for some years but is tired of the problems of taking it nasaly and is therefore looking for a suitable extraction tek to make a smokeable form.
she is facinated by its effects and finds it a pleasant experience and worth exploring more.
She is interested in an old post by RebBaron (posted by 69Ron). This is the acidified acetone tek using anhydrous acetone, citric acid and calcium hydroxide.
does anybody know if this tek is tried and tested?
my friend is concerned as there seems to be so much conflicting information and confusion surrounding bufotenine extraction. particularly around the freebase versus calcium bufotenate argument- is there any more clarity here yet?
my friend also happens to have a quantity of ether and thinks that citric acid is partially soluble in this.
do you think this would be a suitable substitute for the dry acetone or could there be polarity issues.
many thanks for your time and this great website
x

Thankyou.
It is frustrating that there are so many teks and so much conflict over what is happening.
My friend has the chemicals for the acetone citrate tek now but if its not reliable then it may just be a waste of seeds.
The bufojam is very basic and may be worth a go.
She will probably test ether rather than ipa as the solvent and not add an maoi just yet.
She may try one small batch using calcium carbonate and one using calcium hydroxide to compare.
She is no chemist, more of a biologist. She will be interested, I'm sure, in the results.
Any other advice greatly appreciated.
Cheers..
