I was wondering if I soaked chaliponga in everclear for a long period of time, and then filtered and reduced it, would the reduction have any actives in it, say for like making changa. Or would this be a wasted effort?

I'm not exactly sure with that plant specifically, but with mimosa hostilis the dmt is in salt form which makes it water soluble. you would be better off soaking it in just water. Boil it in some water and it should pull it out better than alcohol would. Find out if your plant carries the dmt in salt form(I think they all do). In the event that the plant is carrying freebase dmt, or 5-meo-dmt, you would do fine soaking it in ever clear, but as I stated, I'm pretty sure all plants have dmt salts that are water soluble, not alcohol soluble.
