I just checked out my Naphtha batch in the freezer, which it has been sitting for 13 hours. I ran a spoon through it, which I never have done before and collected a bunch of white, sticky, long and stringy looking dmt. What is up with that? Is it because it has only been in the freezer for 13 hours?
I did the STB tek with 1 lb of mhrb and 1 lb of lye, with the polar wash (sodium carbonate[Na2CO3] ) and dry (Epsom salts [MgSO4]), Some bark got in the final collection jug, as usual, so I had to do the Na2CO3 wash like a dozen times, until it was clean. The NaCO3 had a pH of 8.7. I have a hard time getting it higher despite using a lot of Na2CO3. After the final Na2CO3 wash I put some distilled water, as I would the Na2CO3, then shake the one gallon jug and but much more quickly pour it into the other empty one gallon jug, similar to each time I repeated the Na2CO3 wash. I made sure to do it quick so the dmt would not ionize. After that I did the MgSO4 dry step. Hopefully this makes sense. I use this tek, if there is any confusion. I just want to know if something went wrong.
