Hi everyone,

Earlier today SWIM finished their first extraction Girs tek and SWIM syringed out the NAPTHA put it in martini glasses covered it with press n seal and plans on letting it sit over night.

SWIM's question and this is a dumb one is now what? Does SWIM run the naptha through the coffee filter and let whatever is in the glass dry?

You will probably be able to pour off the naptha into a vessel and the crystals will be stuck to the sides of the glasses, which you can use something like a razor or spoon to scrape once they are dried. Tilt the glasses upside down but allow air flow for the remaining naptha to drip off and the crystals to dry. Warning, do not attempt this in hot/humid environments, it will melt.

just pour off the naphtha and let the crystals sit in the glass for another day or so, outside the freezer so it can evaporate the remainders. If it melts, no problem, just do the evaporation and it will return as the spice will not evaporate but the naphtha will.

Be quick about pouring off the naptha and cover the glass again and let it come to room temperature before you uncover it to let it dry. This will keep condensation from forming on your glass and crystals.

SWIM's drying it now looks good for SWIMS first time SWIM messed up though and the glade seal and wrap he had which was stuck to something he moved in the freezer knocking one glass over. SWIM has NAPTHA smell in his now slightly lol....The other two pull jars SWIM has turned out decent.

SWIM took the naptha he dumped out and put it back in the freezer is this correct? Also how long do you let it dry?

edit SWIM thanks you all for your help great community!

Bob, it might be worth evaporating some of the solvent before you put it back in the freezer, this will make it easier for the rest of the freebase to crash out.

SWIM smoked his first sample I think I rushed it and he is a little bummed because of knocking that glass over hurt my yield! I am hoping the naptha that he dumped off will have a some sort of yield will it?

Yea dude you would be stupid to rush this! It is worth patience and idk about your questions but I only wanted to comment on the fact that 6 hours ago you were precipitating and now you're smoking. That has to be somewhat contaminated with naphtha which is only going to make you more stupid.

yes.. some time for evap of naphtha is good, wait till you can't smell the naphtha off the crystals anymore before you smoke.

i really like this idea of using a martini glass and glad sealing plastic..
it would work perfect for scraping out the crystals, as compared to any jar that i use.
