Hey guys, SWIM was wondering if instead of using mimosa for q21's tek, if phalaris arundinacea could be used it instead. The reason SWIM is interested is because of the higher alkaloid content in phalaris and since it grows in SWIM's neighborhood, it would be much easier to obtain, not to mention cheaper. SWIM knows there are phalaris teks out there, but q21's tek is much preferred because it uses lime and of limonene is used it is 100% food safe. SWIM failed his first extraction last night due to a glassware failure(leaving mason jar in direct contact with bottom of a pot of water on the stove while heating to warm the naptha. Entire contents of jar emptied into the water. vinegar, water, lime, and mimosa . Though it's entirely SWIMs fault)

If you haven't thrown it away you might be able to save that mess. Get all the glass you can find out of it, let the naphtha evap off the top, base the hell out of it just in case, and let some water evap also if it is too soupy, then proceed like normal with pulls. Even if there is a little glass left behind, it won't be in the non polar layer so you won't pull it out. And everything else, water, vinegar, lime, mimosa, and naphtha, were already in the mix to begin with. As for the phalaris tek, I'm not too familiar with it, but I know some species have other alkaloids you don't want and I believe that is what the specialized grass teks address. A normal q21q21 tek 2 extraction may also yield these unwanted alkaloids. But like I said, I'm not positive on this. Someone with more knowledge should be able to help. Please don't have solvents around an active oven! If anything, put the naptha in a metal container and place that in pre-heated water. Please consider not only your safety and the safety of those around you, but the potential for negative media attention if you were to burn your house down and the police found naptha and MHRB.

Idk if this tek, work for phalaris, but what do i know about phalaris, no much really. It would be really cool to know if it worked out, idk were the nexus is on its phalaris tek, but maybe they have found how to get past the gramine issue. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of consciousness." — Terence McKenna

SWIM has already dumped the mixture so swim will have to wait until swim can find another mhrb distributor

I know there was a pdf I downloaded from a thread around here somewere that seemed really ligit though I haven't tried it. I think the guy said limo pulls hardly any grammine and this was the trick to grass extracts. I'll do some digging for the thread. Found the link to said thread about grammines nearly insolubility in Limo. Phalaris Toadfreak!

Looking back over the pdf I see that naptha was used, along with lye. So it makes me think problems with using a dry tek with lime on a grass would be, he juices then boils the grass because of the huge fresh amount of grass, this is were q21q21s tek may not work as well as it is a dry tek. Though I wouldn't count it out, try some different allys and see what you come up with. I'll try and get you the pdf since I can't find the thread, though again I can't take any credit. Here is the thread with the PDF Toadfreak!
