Seen several threads on this subject, both involve crashing out impurities/oils/unpreciped alkaloids out of yellow naphtha. with methanol https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=13391there was also a similar thread but with using vinegar instead. Would like to do something similar. Is there a point of using alcohol or vinegar to pull these oils instead of just evaporating it ? If amount of spent naptha is small especially. Or pulling instead of evapping would leave more undesirable impurities in the naptha and pull only goodies ? INFORMATION No input signal

If you evap, then not only will you waste your solvent, you will get all the oils that are in there as well.
Salting means you don't waste solvent and you get cleaner results as most of the plant oils will remain in solution.
The bonus of just evapping is that the results will still be freebased and depending on how you feel about your product, you can smoke it as is. With salting, you will have to rebasify the goods before you can smoke. Some people say acetates from a vinegar salting are smokable as they are, but I've never tried

Just gotta make sure we're on the same page. This yellow naphtha has been freeze precip't a bunch of times and now is considered "spent". I also dug up that thread which involves using vinegar on 'spent' naphtha https://www.dmt-nexus.me...aspx?g=posts&t=12913Reason I ask I actually have very little of this spent naphtha due to habit of reducing before freeze-precipitating. Also considering some naphtha loss using q2121 tek, it took me over half a year to end up with 150ml of very yellow naphtha(its actually really good light-aliphatic naphtha and has a lot of trouble turning yellow even with multiple long pulls) so I only got 1 chance at creating something special as others report... Yeah I've seen threads where people use HEET as a methanol source to do what you are talking about, i.e. cleaning spent naphtha and getting something called "honey spice." I looked up the MSDS of HEET and am a bit worried that it isn't 100% methanol... there are additives. It is a fuel stabilizer, no doubt, and I have some for my motorcycle, but the idea of proprietary unknown crud being left in something I'm trying to clean up in the first place doesn't sit well with me.
I hadn't seen the vinegar method. Have to check it out. All this chemistry is interesting, but I still scratch my head how people come up with this stuff and the "best" way to go about things. If you have any success, you should repost here and let us know!

please don't use HEET as a solvent

If that's the case, maybe just evap what you have, then decide if you want to smoke what's left. It may be quite nice evapped onto some caapi leaf or something
