I've broken up my acacia into pretty small pieces, but do I absolutely positively have to blend them into powder, or will the lye do the job regardless?

I think it doesn't matter, i do know that powder might be better but idk if it's proven.

Pieces should work just fine, i have also heard you lose some bark in the powdering process because you can't get it all.

Also it could Depend on the Tek you are using, but other than that you should be all good. Smile

greater surface area will allow for better extraction. I haven't worked with acacia only mhrb.. but in that case..you can get the goods without powdering. I would bet that you can do the same with acacia... I just bet that you would get more out easier if you powdered it.

let it sit in the solution for 24hrs before doing the first pull, that should give the lye enough time to do its magic

not particularly. if you answer a question clearly there isn't really a reason to respond. "thank you" can be nice but if you are helping for the sake of helping who cares?

I was saving my reply for afterwards, but thank you.

No.
Especially when it's only 27 minutes and 44 seconds later.

Oop! I just looked at the time and not the dates.
Sorry.
Carry on.

These things occur at their own pace.

Well, after two days of sitting the bark chunks haven't really broken down too much. They're still hard. How long will this take? I keep adding more lye.
