Does anyone know how to extract pure 5-meo-dmt from virola resin?

The first problem is finding some virola resin that has good 5-MeO-DMT content in the first place... Apparently a lot of what is sold commercially has very low alkaloid content.
If you do find, a simple A/B extraction like with DMT should work. Maybe dry-basifying resin, pulling with acetone and adding FASA could work, to get fumarates. So far there have been very few if any reports of 5-MeO extractions, so its hard to say. There was some time back where 69ron suggested maybe hydroxide bases could damage 5-MeO-DMT, but ron also made several other dubious claims, and I dont think there's any chemical reason for that. In any case you could try using a base such as sodium carbonate, specially if you do a dry pull.
As for solvents, most, if not all, solvents used for DMT should work. In literature, petroleum ether (equivalent to naphtha) is used for the final crystallization, so 5-MeO should be soluble in it, though not very much.

I was talking to 69ron and he says that its not 5-meo-dmt in the resin but 5-meo-dmt n-oxide and it needs a specific extraction.

69ron probably doesn't have the analytical equipment to determine that, what with all the Flowing Visions issues. PK Dick is to LSD as HP Lovecraft is to Mushrooms

5-MeO-DMT N-oxide could be reduced to the parent compound using zinc and acetic acid.
By the way AFAIK there has not been one single published report of 5-MeO-DMT N-oxide in virola species.
In any case, let us know if you try anything, whether it works or not!

he also slipped in a mention "Dibufotenoxide" just for me.... knowing I am always teetering on the edge of attempting yet another bufo extraction probably not, but I am always teetering on the edge of attempting yet another bufo extraction.... and I have pinned the scapegoat tail on ron good luck OP All posts written by Madcap should be regarded as fiction.
