Please Help Me Identify the Physical Properties of Crystalline DMT Options

Hello there,

I was just wondering a couple things about DMT.

1. Is crystalline DMT supposed to be oh-so-slightly waxy in texture upon crushing it? I crushed a shard of (crystallized, clean and clear) DMT against a glass plate and it kinda smeared across the glass. Is this normal? Or is there supposed to be a crisp texture to DMT like in rock salt?

2. Is DMT supposed to sting like a battery when you put a shard on your tongue? It kinda has a burning-tingly sensation.

Thanks for the help!

Did you extract it yourself? If yes, from what plant using what chemicals and proceedure? If not and it was gift of a friend, ask him how he extracted. If you bought it, please dont, extract yourself. God knows what somebody else may be selling you, and even if dmt, how can you know this person didnt use some solvent with toxic impurities?

Oops, excuse me; should've explained a bit deeper. SWIM did it himself.

1. Did Vovin's Tek with about a pound of MHRB powder in maybe 1/2 to 2 gallons of pH 3 solution (pool acid + distilled water)

2. Defatted the filtrate from the acidic extraction and then boiled it down to about a 1/3 to 1/4 of the original volume.

3. Basified to pH ~13 with pure NaOH and did the sodium carbonate wash.

4. Placed the DMT-saturated naphtha in a pyrex baking dish, rubber-banded a couple of paper towels over the top and let it sit outside under the cover of a BBQ lid for about 2-3 weeks. (to allow the DMT to precipitate out of the naphtha as it slowly evaporated, while letting the fluctuations in outside temperature build up the crsytals. There was a tiny bit of red liquid at the bottom of the dish)

Picture:

I've been told that the crsytals LOOK pure enough to smoke, but I'm just curious if crystalline DMT is supposed to be a tiny, tiny bit waxy or if it's supposed to sting your tongue like that. Just out of curiosity I guess. Wut? Thanks in advance! Very happy

The red wax most likely jungle spice. But about the rest of the crystalline properties I have no clue.
The spice extends life.
The spice expands consciousness.
The spice is vital to space travel.

Is it just me, or do those look outstandingly tempting?
I like to make things up, everything above is made up and not real, it is a story for my own amusement. Sorry if you felt mislead.

I normally have to edit my posts within a couple of minutes for prose, spelling and grammar. Just to let you know.

I think your crystals look fine and idk if you want to put the spice crystal directly on your tongue, probably will burn, i think it is lemon juice you dissolve it in for oral ingestion.

and as for the first one it's not something i would worry about, you dont really need to crush it either you have such beautiful crystals why would you want to Smile

Sounds like you did a good process.. Considering your naphtha evaps clean, you should be good to go, just make sure all solvent is evapped.

Check this thread too:

In any case yeah, DMT does burn the tongue and it can indeed be waxy.

If your chems are clean and you did a sodium carb wash, the red might just be some plant oils or other stuff that got dissolved in your naphtha, specially if it was warm or if it contains small amounts of aromatic hydrocarbons in the mix. It shouldnt be a problem if you took care as written in link above. Recrystallize if you want, the red stuff. Otherwise just go for it.

Congrats on your nice crystals Smile
