i Found out after completing my first extraction cycle that my mimosa basified solution is very thick. it took a long time passing through the sepparating funnel, even after I percolate the solution on a glass jar before passing it to the separating funnel (i got like 20 grams of gooish mimosa on the percolator). How does this affect the solvent action over dmt extraction? the thickess is due to a lot of mimosa rather than a lot of lye, and the result after evaporation of zippo fluid is a very, very thin layer of something salty, white, like waves of petrified salt. if even that would be dmt the yield would be lame. Yes that is normal, happened to me too. As you could already guess this slows down the extraction a little. Over time the NaOH will eat away the solid plant matter and the solution becomes less viscous. How often did you mix? And how much are you extracting? How long are you letting it stand?

If it's too thick, it will hinder the process because the solvent needs to come in contact with as much plant matter as possible. You can add some more water but that can lower the PH a bit so you might have to add some more lye as well. I've found that 250g of bark works great in a 1 gallon HDPE jug. tripkabouter: I let it stand for 10 days since i didnt had any solvent, mixing 3 times a day, ver strongly. I let the solvent stand for 2 days pulling 10 times per day. was this good? Melodic Catastrophe: whats the ideal PH for the mimosa basified solution? i havent catched that piece of info from the teks. DO NOT use zippo lighter fluid for mimosa. You want to look for purer product. You can even ask for some in your pharmacy

so, the thing with zippo is that its unpure, not that it doesnt extract dmt, right? because I think I did extract some.. I am with those man who own that particular kind of courage of the interior voyager.

Yes I think that's more than enough mixing. In other teks there is often not a lot of mixing but I found that for me it helps the extraction.
And yeah thats true about the naphta. People have used it with success though but there are better sources.

now im using heptane and hexane, both in different bottles, acting on a solution with more lye and more water hoping that solvent will break down easily the mimosa. i got my first extraction on those, and the resulting solvent is on a pair of little bottles in my freezer. its been like8 hours and still see no crystals. HELP! hahaha I am with those man who own that particular kind of courage of the interior voyager.
