greetings, nexians!
I have read your forum for the last year i'm familliar with dmt, and, no doubt, it's s the only place where I can get an adequate help
here's the deal I have a problem with BLAB extraction I used xylene instead of limonene and acetone instead of IPA the problem is that the manufacturer of acetone, apparently mistook a bottle and sold me some other solvent (as I noticed later, the smell quite accurately points it out), which led to a tragedy - yields of 250g mimosa were virtually zero (just a few crystals), plus the entire solvent was not angidridrous (I bought acetone with that label many times, and even without angidration yields were more than satisfactory) tell me, what should I do? how to get trapped spice from the mix of xylene and some misterious solvent?
with the best regards, beforehands, thanks.

what solvent was it?
Does it evap clean by itself?
How many pulls had you done? Maybe evap it all, and redissolve whatever is left over and start again?

i have absolutely no idea what this solvent was, but it evaps kinda clean. it smells like something between acetone and white-spirit. i've done as many pulls as possible, and ended up with about half a liter of piss-yellow-as-hell xylene. is there a way to get out spice without evapping it all? evaping half a liter of xylene is a kina pain in the ass, i think you know it by yourself

If they sold you as a mistake, cant you ask what it is?
Does it mix with water or does it form a separate layer?
Does it evap fast or slow, compared to xylene or other solvents?

manufacturer mislabled it, i suppose, so the actual seller can't really know what it is, plus i bought it oh-so-long-time ago, about three or two months ago (to clean my gvg) it mixes with water well, no layer forms evaps kinda fast, just like acetone does

Hmmm... Then it should evaporate faster than xylene.. Now here's my thinking: Start evapping with a bit of heat the whole mixture (no open fire! use a safe hot plate or warm water bath after fire is off or similar). This other solvent should evaporate before xylene.. Evaporate for a while (can you smell the mixture ? is it distinct from just xylene?). So after a while when I think all of that other solvent should be evaporated, I would salt out the xylene several times with acidic water to retrieve alkaloids, and then proceed to re-extract (maybe evaporating the water to small amount, base, re-extract with solvent, etc)

thanks, i hope that'll help.
