Foggy Harmalas extraction, what's going on? Options

The left and right glass both are been through the same procedure. Both glasses have sat for over 24 hours. Vinegar -> Lye -> Vinegar -> Lye -> Wash x7.

After the 3rd wash, the glass on the left started turning foggy. SWIM may have used filtered (sink attached carbon filter) water once on accident. SWIM used tap for all others and tap for all on the right. It really may have nothing to do with it.

SWIM also noticed that SWIM thinks SWIM is losing Harmalas material on every wash but only with the left glass.

So, the PH is about 7.6 for both now so SWIM is done washing.

Why does the glass on the left never clear up?

Is this caapi or rue?

If rue, dont wash with water or you'll be losing harmaline, wash with sodium carbonate solution. Also if rue, you have to do a manske at some point.

Im not sure why water is not clear, after you separate/filter you could try adding some base to it and see if more alkaloids crash out.

It's caapi. The glass on the left got a little over-based, took more washes to get PH down. This is even a re-wash and it still gets foggy. SWIM used some last week, and other than seemingly extra nausea, it was okay SWIM thinks.
