Im wondering about a/b chaliponga extractions using lextek; after three acid cooks (250g in 1.5L of pH 4 water) how much can the final solution be reduced to? I would like to think the 4.5L could be boiled down to under 2L or is this too ambitious? what would the specific problem be with boiling down this solution a lot? I can see a cause for concern with free-base alkaloids; however as a salt solution it might make sense to boil down the solution quite considerably prior to the basification. Perhaps reducing would increase the chamce of an emulision forming or something along those lines.

Thanks in advance for any information.
