i used 150g of MHRB in a solution of 150g lye and 3000ml water and 50 ml naptha for this pull (the bark was prepowdered) and im using normans tek
i have just completed my first naptha pull (though it hasnt been frozen yet) I agitated 6 times allowing a 1-2 minutes for agitation, and then a full seperation afterwards. my naptha hasnt come out cloudy, does this mean i need to reduce the naptha in my pulls?
Thanks
Joy

No, all sounds good to me. Do 5 or 6 pulls, combine them then freeze precip.

do as ^ says, and then evap till it gets cloudy, then freeze, this way the naptha is nice and saturated and the Spice will crash out nicely when in the freezer.

When you get to the last few pulls i would leave in for a longer period, with an aggitation here and there.

Your naphtha will get cloudy when it FREEZES. At warm temperatures, it should be slightly yellow/orange and clear.

Another related side question, if the naptha is a glaring shade of yellow does this mean ive hit the payload, or ust that ive pulled a load of plant oil too?

The naphtha wont freeze. well at least not in any conventional freezer! ha. thats the whole point! otherwise it wouldn't work very well ;-)

It meant you have lots of oilsSmile , immediate cloud formation in the naptha means a good pull was done.

Freeze precip.

You have yellow plant oil/fat contams because you just did a STB. An a/b or recys will remove those oils.

Edit: Also for best yields you must evap down the naptha until it goes cloudy. If you don't there is more space for DMT to stay soluble in when the solution is cooled in a freezer for 2-3days, hence not all of the DMT will precipitate out.
