In a blender? What kind of blender can manage this? Luckily, my blender just broke, so I'm looking for recommendations!

Thanks people.

blender, yeah, but I pre-break the bark.. if its caapi vine, then hammering/pounding it first. If its mimosa bark, I separate into thinner layers by bending the pieces and pulling the layers appart with the hand, and then cut up in smaller pieces (because if they are thin but long they dont blend well and just tend to roll around the blade), and then blend it all...

Word of warning though, blending caapi vine I scratched fook out of my blender (aka, my parents blender Shocked ) and inside the scratches are deep brown... which won't come off.

Luckily, as per all white goods, it never emerges from the cupboard. But still.

Will borrow a friends weed grinder next time.

No specific brands? Just solid glass ones I presume?

I use my blender every day, twice a day. I'm a smoothie monster. Viva la white goods.

Solid glass preferred (chunks come out of plastic ones) and preferably a nice motor. I have heard of people burning their blender out grinding bark.

I burnt out my food processor grinding cactus.

If you have the money ($400), this is your best bet.

Rue seed boil/simmer for an hour or 2 then blend in blender.

Just be careful because the heated seed will expand when blended.

Swim has blended up kilo a few weeks back, broke the bark up by hand, then blended in a glass blender(its a Tank), then slow slow simmered the bark in 99% alcohol, then blended into a slurry, then gently dried for further processing.. but I guess that is overkill..
