Where do I start?

I was in Chat and they were talking about making Changa with different solvents. People still do that? I said I made Changa with out solvents and they said I should put up a post about my solvent less method.

I guess I'll go back to the beginning. About 3 years ago I made the decision to use DMT as a means to deal with my inevitable death. My health had been failing for awhile and I could feel myself dieing. The Drs misdiagnosed me and gave me a medication that I was allergic to and left me with forever asthma. They were treating me for a heart problem I did not have. Even put in a pacemaker that did not help. After 2 years of getting steadily worse they found my Cancer. Never did find the underlying Reactive Airway Disorder that I am being treated for now.

Anyway, I finally got a hold of some MHRB and tried a STB extraction. It was a gummy mess and while trying to clean it up I basically lost most of it. I was able to smoke a tiny amount of cystal. That was AMAZING. Total euphoria, mild visuals and my depression left. I then put the goo in a crack pipe and tried it. Went for the instantaneous rocket ride to the first room. Tasted like ass. It had started. Got more bark.

After a couple months, many iterations and varying extractions, I had not achieved breakthrough. The closest thing to breakage of any kind was the multiple dropped glass pipes and one dropped "machine" I spent hours grinding a hole in. It did not fair any better than others when my hands stopped working and it hit the concrete basement floor.

And then I read about MAOI herbs that could be smoked. Got a bunch of those. B caapi, Rue seed, passion flower and the mullein that grows wild around my house. Filled a tobacco pipe with caapi and rue and smoked the whole thing. Then put 25 mg of freebase in the oil pipe and hit that. One ... two ... three ... FOUR HITS! Then the creepy crawlies came out of the matrix and took over. Went right past all those rooms and barely got a wave from the pattern people. The whole thing went into a giant swirling bright place and then the blackness. I was fully aware and there was nothing but blackness. No body, no me, no patterns. Then the tiny lights of all colors started popping out, twinkling, but not. There was a presence there I could feel the gentle hug, like a mother's hug, and then the over whelming love. Unconditional love like I have never know. The love I never got as a child. A more powerful love than anything I had ever thought could exist. She was there giving me exactly what I needed most. And teaching me of things more beautiful, more amazing than I could ever express. From that moment to this death has not been a thing to fear.

That changed everything. No more glass pipes. No more rocket rides to fear and trembling. I found a video with Jullian Palmer telling his story of how he made the first Changa. It was simply a means to use DMT as a joint. He collected smokable herbs and melted his freebase into the herbs with low heat. At first he just layed the crystals on the herbs and let it melt intermittently into the herbs. That made some herb enhanced and some not, which was perfect to roll as a joint. Because you do not want all of it enhanced. You want some to burn and some to hold the DMT as it vapes. As the joint goes down the first herb that had been enhanced is then burnt for the heat to vape the next. And the cooled vapor recondenced at the end of the joint in the dry herb. Worked great.

Well, I thought about it and realized that the problem I was having getting the sticky out of my spice was no longer a problem. I took the pyrex dish I had just dried out with the pretty white and yellow crystals and the sticky blisters and set it on my electric oilfilled
space heater. The crystals melted fairly quickly. I put the infrared temp gun on it, 130F. Then put 2 grams of mixed herbs into the dish and started rubbing it around. The herb picked up every bit of that spice, sticky and all, till the dish was clean. Easiest harvest I had ever done.

I had just carved a new soapstone pipe for weed and tried it out with my newly made Changa.
Layered it with a pile of mullein on top and took it outside in the sunlight for an afternoon smoke. This stuff was magical. This particular batch of bark was the best. And this newly crafted smokable herbs were smooth and potent. Again the come up was even paced, bright and sweet in the sunlight. Two .. Three hits and the patterns took over as before like June bugs crawling out of the ground they came out of the matrix and the veil lifted.
The pattern people came and gathered around me like it was a big party. They danced and reached to me. I had the distinct feeling this was my coming out party. I will never forget how the grass looked, it got thick and grew much like the acid trips from years before. I closed my eyes to find the pattern people morphing into the lights like they wanted me to come. And the stairs opened up, they were going up and down the stairs. I have seen those stairs many times before, still don't know where they go. The come down was some of the best. Very shroomy, very magical and walking back to the house on that grass, WOW. What a trip.

BTW that pipe still smells like burnt DMT. yuck

Bottom line. You do not need chemicals or solvent to enhance your herb. The spice wants to be in them like it was made for that. These days I use a heating pad. Just set the dish on it and rub up the spice. Simple and easy. Just don't let it get to hot or your precious spice will beginning vaping into thin air. And, oh yeah, hold on to some of the dry herbs to mix with the enhanced Changa in a joint or pipe. You still need to avoid direct flame on the Changa

Welcome to the nexus!

Your method is very similar to some that have been proposed here. In some cases, people put a known weight of herbs and a known weight of DMT (and harmalas- if you want those) into a shot glass and set that in a hot water bath.

Ethanol, the solvent most commonly used for changa is relatively safe and will evaporate to safe levels even in normal atmospheric pressure.

Enjoy exploring!

Duh
I saw that post about the shot glass in a water bath. I'm sure it would work. But I also read he spilled it. So why go to that bother. And yeah alcohol is relatively safe. The point was not to see how many tecs there are or what solvents work. The point is what is simple and easy. Can you give me a better way to get every last bit of spice out of your collection dish? You can't tell me you have not been frustrated by the sticky NMT that will never form crystals. Or found out how lack luster your spice is once you remove all the goo and sticky. The synergy of the full spectrum spice is just better, period. Why fill your space with fumes from IPA or acetone?

And yeah there has to be many people useing Jullian Palmer's idea. Like I said "People still do that?".

I suppose it's all dependent on your equipment. When i do extractions, i don't use heat after adding the acid. I rarely get hous goo and it's far from lack luster. The proper pyrex glass tray makes scraping it off a breeze, and the last few milligrams that I miss are left there or given a quick rinse (acetone, isopropyl, or ethanol), but it's hardly enough to bother with enhanced leaf.

Any of the extracts are stored in at -33 psi for a week or longer. Solvent will still be present in the crystal lattice of DMT (and its REALLY trapped in goo). Dissolving your DMT in a safer solvent first disrupts the lattice and releases the more dangerous solvent (most people use naphtha.) Even heating and stirring will not release a majority the naphtha from goo without an additional solvent to break it up.

I've made e-fluid similar to you. Tossed x amount of DMT in a pyrex dish and l
placed on the hot plate. Within a min or less, the DMT had become liquid. Add y amount of desired vape fluid blend... stir. Done. Of course, I already did all the cleaning and purging long before I was bored enough to mess with e-fluid. It worked fine. Not my preferred ROA. I'd rather have a GVG sitting by than a bunch of vape parts.

And - call it blasphemy, I am not a huge changa fan. If you offered me 2 grams of clean freebase DMT vs 20 grams of changa - I'd take the freebase. Why? We like what we like. Luckily, I bet you'd prefer to keep the changa. So,win-win.

I am glad that this method works well for you. I was uncertain if you'd not seen the concept or not prior to posting. Conceptually, I figured the info was out there. To be honest, I didn't read the whole post about heating DMT for changa. I haven't looked at it in about 5 years. I read the first little bit, understood the concept (a specific temp will allow DMT to melt, then add whatever you want) and figured that others realized that it doesn't HAVE to be repeated exactly. Glassware, heat source, herbs, etc, all changes from person to person. Melting DMT does not change (on a scale that is noticed my most kitchen khemists).

Palmer wrote that? I guess it HAS been a while since I've seen that thread! Lol. I'm not a follower of Palmer. I appreciate his enthusiasm and input - but the whole "I am the creator of changa" thing turns me off from him. I don't know what value it adds to thre community for him to claim creation - considering its grown far from what it may have once been.

It would be like me claiming to have "created" the idea of using a microwave to speed extractions and dry magnesium sulfate in a matter of minutes. I didn't invent the microwave, or using the microwave. Know what I did? I was lazy and found that microwaving eggs for 27 seconds was a perfect cook time. So I wondered... "could this be used to speed processes of extraction?" In short, "yes." I've posted about it. I haven't seen others mention using it prior, but I didn't invent it. I observed the pattern and applied an idea.

Prior to the "MAD tek" (Microwave Assisted Dry tek) and the "The MMMAD tek" (The Minimalist's Mescaline Microwave Assisted Drytek) [both of which are horribly outdated and I'm in need of adjusting to provide better explanation of safety and which concepts can be reconfigured for various needs] I didn't see any tek that utilized a microwave. So, I just wrote my experiments and the documented info.

I didn't invent activated carbon, sodium carbonate, pickle jars, water or used solvent - but, I see people tossing thier solvents down the drain. I didn't invent reclamation, but I posted this observation: Method for reclaiming "used" solvent.

I invented none of that - but, I've also never seen it formally addressed. Some will find it useful, most will ignore it. Lol.

I encourage you to keep experimenting. Figure out the thing that works best for you, and then improve it each time you repeat. If you get tired of repetition, then play with a new idea and see if it's good for you, or not. If your goal is improvement, then we've got a LOT of ground to cover. Like.... the amount of lye (NaOH) that we use in extractions. If you would like the math, then click here. It's a reply to a different thread, but serves the purpose.

Take Care!
