I'm pretty confident in regards to why the conversion went wrong, i just need a little bit of guidance in fixing the problem.

What i think caused the problem is that i added around 400mg's of fumarate salt, instead of 310 mg's. I did this because my mg scale is broken, so i decided instead of ordering another mg scale, to just use my gram scale, so i measured anywhere from 380mg's to 400. I didn't think the excess fumarate salt would cause any problems.

The end result is about 3/4 of the dmt a powdery/crystal like appereance and 1/4 gooey.

does anybody here have any tips on how to improve and clean up this mess?

If you could detail step by step what did you do or link to the tek used, it could be usefull to understand and help you.

i did this tek about 2 months ago with no problems, but i had my scale at the time to accurately measure the fumarate salt.

I don't see why an excess of fumaric acid would cause that, the problem could be a contamination of final product but not as goo.
Are you sure there's no water condensation from acetone evaporation ? If there is a tiny amount of water, as fumarate are really soluble, it could form some goo.
I'd wait to see if it dries.

Or wait for cleverer advice from somebody else

huh i just figured it was the fumarate, because on my previous conversion all went smoothly. I'll let it sit overnight and see what happens then.

DansMaTete is correct.

What you are seeing may very be because your solvent is not particularly selective to DMT & pulled some other impurities from the bark as well. I had the same thing happen when I tried FASA tek.

Separate the solvent via pipette as well as you can & save the yellow oil. Put it in a dish to dry & scrape I over every so often. It should turn into a powder eventually.

From there you can clean up further by converting to base, washing, & redissolving in fresh solvent then just re-FASA SLOWLY. Maybe a ML or two of FASA then wait a few hours for clouding to stop & slowly add in another ML until nothing else precipitates.

When I worked slowly with FASA like that, it took forever, but I watched some very nice DMT crystals form & the crud sticking them slowly dissappear with each FASA precipitation.

Your problem may also have been adding FASA too quickly.

I`'ll try to go back & find the thread I started for the same reason. It may be helpful in your situation.

Be sure you understand what you are doing clearly & the science behind it makes sense before doing each step. Also deffinately ask for help via chat BEFORE doing a step if you are unsure. Spice is an extremely valuable substance & losing product you put work into sucks.
