I'm following the erowid tek (the popular one... here:
http://www.erowid.org/ch.../dmt/extraction_guide1/), and am at the emulsion step. That tek was written around MHRB but i'm doing it with phalaris.
I pH'd to ~12 and added warm naphtha as described. There is 2 layers forming but the solution is not "gel-like" as the tek describes, nor is it black.
The two jars look pretty similar.. both are an orange hue where the basified-solution is and the naphtha solvent is floating above it, with little globules in it. I'm also seeing "snowflake" looking objects coalescing at the bottom. HOpefully my crappy digital camera captures this.
Questions:
1) Does this look right?
2) When I extract, do I take everything that is in the naphtha? Do I strain out the globules?
3) Any other tips?
