Does pharm grade or slaking lime, have the same efficacy as pickling lime? Edible lime can be 100% Calcium Hydroxide, but so is the pool cleaner Calcium Hydroxide which is like 100 times cheaper, I'm sure it shouldn't matter but just asking.

Too late, already ordered Kalkwasser, seems to be quite pure indeed for CaOH, and got quite a large supply for a fraction of what edible lime goes for.

all those terms are synonymous (calcium hydroxide is calcium hydroxide is calcium hydroxide).
if you are in doubt, check the MSDS of whatever brand name you want, and it will show the purity of the product

Oh well, I just found it weird that my edible lime brand I used to use said, "may burn eyes, lungs, and skin" even though its "food-safe". Here I am worrying about the slightest impurities, and there are people rocking up crack, and drumming up meth labs without the slightest regard for health and safety. Just that the pickling lime is brutally expensive in Canada.
