Stopper Material for Flask Options

I'm thinking about throwing down the bills for a glass flask for my pet hamster, but I'm not sure what type of stopper would be appropriate for the type of applications he'd use it for. I heard someone on the nexus here referring to PTFE stoppers but I can't find any for sale individually and all the packs I'm seeing are 'spensive. Anyone know if Neoprene stoppers would be kosher? I've seen a list of common chemicals that react with it and none of the acids, bases or solvents my hamster would be using are listed but I assume the Wikipedia page I found that info on was all inclusive. Any idea what type of stoppers to look for?

Well hampsters don't extract dmt, but if you are looking for a stopper to use for a glass flask, ideally a ground glass joint with a bit of vegetable oil to seal it, and one of those clips that keep the bowls in bong females is what i use. Also the same kind of joint on the bottom of seperatory funnel, ground glass. Basically lab glass, but it can be found cheap, just have a milk jug containment in case it breaks. MY 500ml one was like $15 onlne, and i got thick 250ml/500ml gong topped glass storage jars pretty cheap too. Those work good, but the narrow top on my 500ml thin glass vessel works great for solvent recovery.

Another option, would be hdpe, but that depends on what kind of flask YOU have and what kind of top is on it. If your talking regular lab glass, perhaps theres products out there.

Dont use rubber, i'd just go with a flask that has a glass/glass joint at the top with a glass stopper. Add a bit of veggie oil to seal the joint, since its food safe, and secure it with a gong clip or somehow.

I use that with limo/koh basified mhrb/cactus extractions and it works extremely well.

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...

Well you've obviously never met this hamster. Anyways I've used HDPE water jugs before I'm just concerned about leeching plastic since I've read about that on the nexus amongst other places. The first time my hamster did an extraction the parts of the jug corroded and the basified solution leaded errywhere. The last time he attempted it he got a legit HDPE jug but whatever material was comprising the seal attached to the lid corroded too and once again basified solution all over the area around the sink. I haven't ordered a flask yet. Hamster was musing over a 2000ml flask but he's paranoid about me ordering anything from the scientific equipment places cause he's afraid of having my name and card on file for such a large container. I'd use a mason jar if they didn't have those fucking rubber seals.

Didn't mean to be a bit harsh there, just the whole swim thing, is generally, across multiple drug forums, discouraged since it doesn't protect you legally in any manner. Also it makes posts harder to understand. Theres no logical reason for animal representations, or swim, thats my opinion, and from what i can tell the opinion of the majority of the users of the nexus.

And regarding hdpe, its well documented its safe to use as a CONTAINMENT vessel, in the event containment of your main glass extraction vessel is compromised. Though i would use thicker hdpe than a milk jug.

And you can find flasks of all sizes with ground glass tops/caps on ebay, and many other sites that are not chemical/lab supply vendors who may or may not log your info. Ebay is not going to put you on a dea list or anything like that for buying a flask there. Theres tons of legit uses for glass ware, biodiesel, wine/beer brewing, and lots of other legal uses for flasks.

I agree you should not use HDPE for your main extraction vessel. Thick Borosillicate glass, with a glass cap lubricated with an thick food safe oil is the best option here imho.
