Good Evening:
While working a q21q21 I did some interesting things on purpose and on accident that I have a few questions about if anyone is gracious enough to offer input.
I had some 2 week old ACRB liquid decanted (I had boiled over three cycles with H20 + Vinegar) so I added Pickling Lime to it and after 1-2 hours, bathed it in Naptha while it sat in a pool of hot water (periodically replaced to maintain slightly scalding temp). Very cool. What I missed was not adding quit enough lime, as the goop 'absorbed' a fair bit of the naptha making pouring off what was separating rather difficulty.
*Side Note: I rather dislike filtering through a paper coffee filter... seems wasteful when you see the filter sparkle (tested it by throwing it in the freezer out of curiosity) - is a permanent coffee filter a better alternative for a Q21Q21?*Anyway, back to where this is leading... some of the goop went into the pyrex with the naptha and into the freezer. It's been about 24 hours in the freezer (I just noticed it wasn't on all-the-way-cold, so I adjusted and am letting it sit till tomorrow afternoon) and things are shinyish (not as visible in the picture, most crystalline structures seem to be in the goop making the flash not so useful at demonstrating this)... but it seems that perhaps the goop spread out and shiny things are clinging to the goop? I don't remember letting as much goop fall in as it seems in the picture, so perhaps this is merely impure precipitate, but still good none-the-less?
What would a more experienced ethnobotany fan do in my case with the resulting picture? Heat it back up in a near boiling hot water bath and roll the naptha around and try and separate the brown yet shiny/crystalline patches, or if my dog accidentally ate it, would it be stomach safe and effective when combined with precipitate from cielo?
